What is the ruling on a woman removing hair from under her eyebrows?

There is no harm in removing hair from under the eyebrows, as there is no text prohibiting it. The text prohibits plucking hair from the eyebrows themselves, which is the hair on the bone above the eyes. It is permissible to remove excess hair from under the eyebrows if it disfigures the face, such as when it reaches the eyelid or the beginning of the forehead. Sheikh Ibn 'Uthaymeen held the view that there is no harm in thinning the eyebrows if they are unusually thick.
