Publishing a book or a novel that is Islamically forbidden necessitates criticizing it, clarifying its error, and warning against it. This is considered among the obligatory or recommended acts of sincere advice (nasiha). Furthermore, backbiting (gheeba) the publishers of such materials, for the purpose of warning Muslims against their evil, is either recommended or obligatory depending on the situation.
