Is it permissible to combine prayers during military maneuvers that require the use of live ammunition and military tactics that prevent stopping to perform each prayer at its appointed time?

It is permissible to combine the Dhuhr and Asr prayers, either by performing them early (taqdim) or delaying them (ta'khir), when there is a need. This is based on what has been authentically reported, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, combined prayers in Medina without fear or rain, in order to remove hardship from his Ummah. It is advisable to counsel those responsible for training sessions to choose a time that does not conflict with prayer.
