How do we respond to someone who says that the perfect Creator enjoys tormenting people by imposing impossible rulings, and finds no explanation for the Hadith: "If two Muslims confront each other with their swords, then both the killer and the killed are in the Fire," when linking it to the Great Fitna of the Companions, while believing that history is falsified in favor of the victor?

Whoever undertakes to refute atheists must be armed with religious knowledge. The claim that Allah imposes impossible rulings or that He enjoys doing so is a slander that can only come from one ignorant of Allah and His tolerant Sharia (definition). As for the hadith (definition), "The killer and the killed are in the Hellfire," it is restricted to those who fought for worldly gain and desires, and does not include the Companions in the battles of Al-Jamal and Siffin; for they were mujtahids and interpreters. The falsification of history does not mean that all of history is falsified; rather, it necessitates scrutinizing historical narrations according to the rules of the hadith scholars.
