Do half-siblings inherit alongside full-siblings and the mother? And if they do inherit, what is their share?

To clarify how an inheritance is to be divided, the heirs must be precisely enumerated. The deceased's mother receives one-sixth due to the presence of a group of siblings, as Allah Almighty says: ﴿But if he has brothers [and sisters], the mother will have one-sixth.﴾ The paternal siblings are excluded by the full brothers. As for the maternal siblings, they equally divide one-third of the inheritance, as Allah Almighty says: ﴿But if they are more than that, they share in one-third.﴾ The full brothers are 'Asabah (residuaries) who inherit what remains after the اصحاب الفروض (those with specified shares), with the male receiving the share of two females. It is important to refer matters related to inheritances to Sharia (definition) courts or consult scholars knowledgeable in them, due to the presence of wills, debts, or rights that take precedence over the heirs' rights.
