Is it permissible for a woman to marry a misyar marriage without her family's knowledge, or for one of her brothers to marry her off without the knowledge of the rest of the family, in the event that the family rejects it?

If a suitor of good character and religious commitment proposes to you, your parents do not have the right to refuse him, especially if you fear fitna (temptation/strife) for yourself. However, you are not permitted to marry except with the permission of your wali (guardian), who is your father if he is present. If he refuses to marry you off, refer your case to the Sharia judge, so that he may marry you off, for "the judge is the wali for one who has no wali." Some scholars have also held that guardianship transfers to the more distant wali if the closer wali prevents the marriage.
