What is the ruling on the Tawaf of 'Umrah and Ifadah for one who faced the Kaaba with his chest, or turned to the right, or looked behind him during the Tawaf in some circuits, knowing that he had misgivings about his intention for prayer?

If deviation from the Kaaba during circumambulation is doubtful, then pay no attention to the doubt, and your worship is valid. However, if you are certain of the deviation, then scholars have differed on the validity of the circumambulation. The majority hold that it is invalid, while the Hanafis deem it valid with prohibitory detestability and the obligation of a compensatory sacrifice (dam) for anyone who has left Mecca. You may adopt the Hanafi view to alleviate hardship, especially if you suffer from obsessive thoughts.
