Is it permissible to combine the Dhuhr and Asr prayers due to work circumstances, especially when the work meets other Sharia-compliant conditions, and one cannot resign from it for family and economic reasons?

Adherence to Islamic dress and performing prayer on time are commendable. Prayer is the second pillar of faith after the two testimonies of faith. It was narrated from 'Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, that safeguarding prayer safeguards religion, and neglecting it leads to neglecting everything else.

Delaying the 'Asr prayer until the middle or the end of its preferred time is permissible. However, delaying it until its optional time expires, or combining the two prayers by performing 'Asr before its time, or delaying Dhuhr beyond its time, is not permissible to do regularly.

Such actions are permissible occasionally due to a valid excuse and a recognized need, based on the Hadith narrated by Ibn 'Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, combined Dhuhr and 'Asr, and Maghrib and 'Isha in Medina, not out of fear or rain, so as not to cause hardship to his Ummah.

Working is permissible as long as it does not lead to neglecting prayer and worship, while observing other Islamic guidelines regarding dress and avoiding impermissible mixing. It is advisable to directly ask a scholar to determine the ruling based on the extent of the need for work and the specific circumstances.
