What is the ruling regarding someone who loses her mind—even though she is religious and observes fasting and prayer—then regains consciousness and returns to normal, with this condition recurring four times over a period of 10 years, and when she is ill, she does not acknowledge Islam?

If a person loses consciousness due to magic or other causes, they are not held accountable for the acts of worship they missed during the period of unconsciousness, nor are they required to make them up. This is because they are not held responsible, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "The pen has been lifted from three: from the sleeper until he awakens, from the child until he reaches puberty, and from the insane person until he regains his sanity." However, zakat is obligatory on their wealth if they possess any. If a person apostatizes under the influence of magic, there is no sin upon them, as they acted without choice. If they regain their sanity, they are obligated to fulfill their duties.
