What is the religious ruling on the salary of a female employee whose work does not require daily attendance or presence throughout official working hours, and she only needs to be present for two hours every two days, considering that she is well-off and feels bored at home, and spends her time memorizing the Quran and reading books?

Any permissible work for which a person receives a lawful wage is permissible, as long as they do not violate the employment contract. If the contract does not require more working hours than what is stated, then the employee is not at fault. However, if the contract requires longer working hours, then it is not permissible to do what was mentioned, and a portion of the salary would be taken unjustly, even if the work itself does not necessitate it, as long as the contract stipulates a specific working duration. It is advisable for a woman, if she is financially comfortable, to leave work and devote herself to her home, family, and calling to Allah, as this is better and more suitable for her, especially given the many workplaces that are unsuitable for a Muslim woman due to mixing and prohibited activities.
