Is congregational prayer counted for one who caught up with the Imam during the prostration of forgetfulness (sujud al-sahw) after the Taslim?

The summary of the fatwa is that whoever catches up with the Imam after he has concluded the prayer is not considered to have joined the congregation. The Hanbalis are of the opinion that whoever follows the Imam in the prostration of forgetfulness (sujud al-sahw) after the salutation, their prayer is not valid because the Imam has already exited the prayer. The Malikis differ regarding the validity of the prayer of one who catches up with the Imam during the post-salutation prostration (sujud al-sahw al-ba'di); some of them hold that it is not valid because it involves introducing something into the prayer that is not part of it, while others consider it valid. Accordingly, a latecomer should not follow the Imam if the Imam has already concluded the prayer with the salutation, even if it is during the post-salutation prostration of forgetfulness.
