What is the advice that should be given to a young man who left his job to work with a friend, claiming an increase in wages, then the friend went back on his word and presented the young man with two options: either work or stop, knowing that the young man is in urgent need of work?

Your friend should have fulfilled his promise, as Allah Almighty says: "And fulfill the covenant; indeed, the covenant will be questioned." (Quran 17:34), and as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There are four characteristics, whoever possesses them is a pure hypocrite... and if he promises, he breaks it." If you know that he does not intend to fulfill it, and you find another job, there is no harm in leaving work with him. However, if you are in need of work and cannot find any other, then be patient and look for an alternative.
