Bribery is a gift given to invalidate a right or to establish a falsehood, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, cursed both the briber and the bribed.

As for your question, a distinction must be made between a craftsman who works for himself, to whom a gift may be given and there is no harm in it, and an employee or worker who works for another entity.

Regarding the employee and worker:

1. If he asks for the gift, do not give it to him, as his request is a bribe. 2. If he does not ask for it, but you know that he will not complete the work except with it, and you are compelled to give it, and it does not result in establishing falsehood, invalidating a right, or prioritizing you over others, then there is no sin upon you, and the sin is upon him. 3. If he does not ask for it, and the completion of the work does not depend on it, and there is no harm in completing the work, and you do not intend it as a bribe, then there is no harm in the gift. However, it is preferable not to give such gifts during the completion of work; so that employees do not become accustomed to associating work completion with gifts, and so that you do not become accustomed to giving gifts, and so that no suspicion arises between them among people.
