What is the authenticity of the supplication, "O Allah, I ask You for enduring faith, and I ask You for a humble heart, and I ask You for beneficial knowledge, and I ask You for sincere certainty, and I ask You for an upright religion, and I ask You for well-being from every affliction"? And is it true that whoever supplicates with it, Paradise yearns for them and they are forgiven?

This supplication, narrated from Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and known as "Dua' Abi Dharr" (O Allah, I ask You for enduring faith, and I ask You for a humble heart, and I ask You for beneficial knowledge, and I ask You for true certainty, and I ask You for an upright religion, and I ask You for well-being from every affliction, and I ask You for complete well-being, and I ask You for continuous well-being, and I ask You for gratitude for well-being, and I ask You for independence from people) is a fabricated, forged hadith that should not be narrated except for the purpose of warning against it.

This is confirmed by the fact that its chain of narration is very weak due to the presence of a narrator whose hadith is unanimously considered denounced, and that Al-Hakim Al-Tirmidhi was unique in narrating it, and he is not among the hadith scholars known for their precision in chains of narration, and he filled his books with fabricated hadiths.

There is no harm in supplicating with these words because they do not contain anything objectionable, but without believing in the virtue mentioned in this hadith. Similar and authentic supplications have been reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and some companions, such as the supplication (O Allah, I ask You for good sustenance, beneficial knowledge, and accepted deeds) and the supplication of Abu Al-Darda (O Allah, I ask You for enduring faith, beneficial knowledge, and upright guidance).
