How can one claim to follow the middle ground while speaking inappropriately about the Ash'aris, like Ibn Taymiyyah and his followers, knowing that all the Mutakallimun are from Ahl al-Sunnah, whether they are Maturidis or Ash'aris?

The methodology of the Ash'aris and Maturidis in creed is not the methodology of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah. Al-Ash'ari recanted many of his views, and his creed, which is in agreement with Ahl al-Sunnah, is documented in his later works such as "Maqalat al-Islamiyyin" and "Al-Ibanah." Many scholars refuted their errors, including Ibn Taymiyyah, Al-Lalaka'i, Al-Asfahani, Al-Dhahabi, and Ibn Khuzaymah. The statement that all Ahl al-Kalam (people of scholastic theology) are from Ahl al-Sunnah is a fabrication, for they condemn the Mu'tazilah, who are the origin of Kalam. An objective person would examine the Qur'an and Sunnah, the sayings of the Salaf and the Imams, and compare them with the words of the Ash'aris, Maturidis, and Ahl al-Sunnah to see that Ibn Taymiyyah and those who agreed with him are the ones who conform to the Qur'an, Sunnah, and the Salaf.
