Is the saying "The road to hell is paved with good intentions" true, and how is that realized?

The validity of the statement "Good intentions are not enough for the forgiveness of sins" depends on the conditions for the acceptance of righteous deeds, which are: sincerity to Allah and conformity to the Sharia. If an action is neither sincere nor correct, it will not be accepted. Whoever seeks to draw closer to Allah through means not prescribed by the Sharia, such as innovations (bid'ah), will only increase in distance, even if their intention was good. Therefore, an action is not accepted unless it is sincerely for the sake of Allah and in accordance with His command; otherwise, it is rejected upon its doer.
