What is the interpretation of the noble verse: "Indeed, We do not allow to be lost the reward of any who did well in deeds," and will he who dedicates his work sincerely to Allah be rewarded, even without knowing the extent of its conformity with the Prophetic Sunnah?

For a deed to be accepted, there are two fundamental conditions: first, its sincerity to Allah the Almighty; and second, its conformity to the Sunnah of the Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. Al-Fudayl ibn 'Iyad interpreted "best in deed" as being the most sincere and the most correct, emphasizing that a deed is not accepted unless it is both sincere and correct. As for performing deeds without knowing the details of their conformity to the Sunnah, scholars have differed on the validity of the worship of an ignorant person and whether or not they receive a reward. The majority view is that they are neither rewarded nor burdened with sin.
