Does the Hadith "Allah will raise for my Ummah at the turn of every hundred years one who will renew its religion" mean that the Awaited Mahdi will only appear at the turn of every hundred years?

The Hadith: "Indeed, Allah will send to this nation at the turn of every hundred years someone who will renew its religion for it" is an authentic Hadith. The Mahdi is considered among the renewers, and he will rule by Islam and spread justice. There has been a difference of opinion regarding the meaning of "at the turn of the hundred years" (على رأس المائة) – whether it means its beginning or its end. The more probable opinion is that it means the end of the hundred years. The Imams have agreed that Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz was the renewer of the first century and Imam al-Shafi'i was the renewer of the second century, which indicates that the intended meaning is the end of the hundred years. The evidence for this is the Hadith of Ibn Umar: "Do you see this night of yours? For at the end of a hundred years from it, no one who is on the surface of the earth will remain alive." The appearance of the renewer may occur before the end of the century and be completed by its end.
