Is it permissible to perform Salat al-Tasabih on behalf of the deceased?

Scholars have differed regarding the ruling on Salatul Tasabih (the Prayer of Glorifications). However, according to the view that it is legislated, performing it and dedicating its reward to the deceased is permissible, with no objection, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "If your father had embraced Islam, and you fasted on his behalf and gave charity, that would benefit him." This is the view of the Hanafis and Hanbalis, and it was supported by Ibn Al-Qayyim, Al-Nawawi, and Al-Qurtubi.
