Is it permissible to consider a young man as one's son and offer him help and advice over the phone, knowing that he considers the questioner as his second mother and obeys her, in order for him to overcome his religious and social problems and build his self-confidence? And is this action forbidden or permissible?

A woman is permitted to work in mixed-gender environments if she is in need, provided she adheres to Islamic regulations such as modesty, avoiding private seclusion (khalwa), lowering her gaze, and not speaking in a soft or alluring manner. She must leave mixed-gender work when she no longer needs it or finds employment in a non-mixed environment. As for inviting young men [to Islam], it is safer to do so through her maharim (unmarriageable kin) or someone related to them. Adoption is not permissible, but there is no harm in obedience, compassion, advice, and assistance, as long as it does not lead to a forbidden (shar'i) outcome.
