What is the reality that a person is born upon the Islamic fitra (innate disposition), and what if a child were left alone without any external influences, would he grow up upon Islam?

There is a difference of opinion regarding the meaning of "fitra" (innate disposition) mentioned in the hadith: "Every child is born upon fitra." Its meaning is that every child is born prepared to accept the truth by nature, were it not for external influences and the devils among jinn and humans. Thus, fitra necessitates acknowledging the Creator, loving Him, and dedicating one's religion purely to Him. This fitra and its requirements manifest gradually if undisturbed by opposing factors. This means that every child is born with love for his Creator, an acknowledgment of His Lordship, and an assertion of servitude to Him. If left undisturbed by opposing factors, he would not deviate from that.
