Is it true that Umar ibn al-Khattab ordered Tamim al-Dari to extinguish a fire resembling a volcano, and that Tamim extinguished it with his hand?

More than one scholar, such as Ibn Hajar and Al-Lalaka'i, mentioned this story, and it has not been judged as authentic, weak, or fabricated. If it is proven, then it is one of the miracles (karamat) of the awliya' (saints) and not a miracle (mu'jiza), for miracles are specific to prophets.
