Is the gift given to my son—who is an educational consultant that places students in universities—by one of the students who was admitted to the university, consisting of fruit baskets from their farm, permissible and blameless, or otherwise?

It is not permissible for an employee to accept a gift or gratuity from clients due to their position, as this involves favoritism or injustice, and falls under the forbidden bribery for which the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, cursed both the recipient and the giver. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, referred to it as "ghulul" (embezzlement/betrayal). If the gift is given after the completion of the work without any favoritism, its ruling is less severe, but it is safer to completely close the door to prevent corruption. Work should be sincerely for the sake of Allah. Sheikh Ibn Baz issued a fatwa stating that it is not permissible to give a doctor in a government hospital a gift, even after the completion of the work, in order to close the door to stratagems and pretexts.
