Is sending a monthly sum of money to a refugee family with the intention of feeding them, on condition that they buy food with it (and they might also buy clothes with it), considered among the "feeding of the hungry" whose virtue was mentioned in the Hadith, "Spread peace and feed the hungry...", or must the food be cooked and presented directly for it to be considered as such?
"This act of yours combines feeding the poor and giving charity. There is no difference between doing this yourself or appointing someone to do it. It is not a condition for the food to be cooked, as 'feeding' includes charity, gifts, and hospitality. It also includes feeding the poor, the needy, and orphans. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, encouraged giving food as charity, and the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them, did so. So continue with this work, for you are upon goodness."
