It is not permissible to use pirated software, as this constitutes an infringement on the rights of its owners. This is not considered a prohibited monopoly. Nevertheless, whoever imitates those who permitted it for personal benefit without earning money from it, it is hoped that no sin will befall them. The blameworthy monopoly is the hoarding of goods during times of high prices to sell them for more than their value.
