Does much talk about motivation and achievement cause frustration, so what is the solution?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The feeling of lethargy and slackness is natural, especially after exerting extra effort. Every action has a period of activity followed by a period of calm. The important thing is that the period of calm aligns with the Prophetic Sunnah. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, clarified that faith increases and decreases, and that the soul needs times for rest and engaging in permissible activities, because constant intense remembrance cannot always be sustained. The causes of frustration can stem from excessive or unconscious motivation, or from failing to convert motivation into action. Effective motivation requires an individual to know their needs, diversify sources of motivation, and focus on the fact that success is the product of multiple factors, not merely motivation. Therefore, do not compare yourself to others, use motivation as an impetus when needed, avoid self-blame, and seek help from Allah.
