How can one strengthen their resolve in the face of worldly temptations and gain self-confidence and determination to achieve goals that serve Islam and Muslims, especially when encountering laziness and inertia at the beginning of change?
To gain vitality and strengthen your resolve, seek help from Allah. Fear Allah by obeying His commands and avoiding His prohibitions. Allah Almighty says: "And whoever fears Allah – He will make for him a way out And will provide for him from where he does not expect." Maintain your prayers, perform many supererogatory acts of worship, set a goal with the intention of seeking Allah's pleasure, remember Allah frequently, and persist in performing the night prayer (Qiyam al-Layl), for it is the practice of the righteous, a means of drawing closer to Allah, a deterrent from sin, an expiation for misdeeds, and a cure for ailments. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "You have a long night, so sleep. If he wakes up and remembers Allah, a knot is untied. If he performs ablution, a knot is untied. If he prays, a knot is untied. So he rises in the morning active and good-spirited, otherwise, he rises ill-spirited and lazy." Elevate yourself, and beware of procrastination. Piety brings knowledge and guidance. Allah Almighty says: "If you fear Allah, He will grant you a criterion and will remove from you your misdeeds and forgive you." Get rid of the causes of your weakness, and raise your hands in supplication to Allah.
