What is the recognized condition of an obsessive-compulsive disorder patient in which his divorce does not take effect?

Divorce issued by someone suffering from obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) due to their compulsions is not valid if they are overwhelmed and not in control of their intellect. However, if they divorce by choice, fully aware of what they are saying, then their divorce is valid. If the husband doubts whether the divorce occurred due to compulsions or by his own choice, the default is that it did not occur. One must be cautious not to give in to obsessions, seeking Allah's help and making abundant supplications.
