Is placing small papers containing Qur’anic verses that the reader loves into a box, writing “Messages from My Lord” on it, and then opening the box when needed to read these messages, considered seeking an omen from the Qur’an?

If the intention behind collecting specific verses is to seek an omen from them, then it falls under the ruling of seeking an omen from the Qur’an (istikhara bi’l-mus'haf), which many scholars have prohibited and considered a form of divination with arrows (istisqaam bi’l-azlaam).

The omen (fa'l) that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, loved was to hear a good word unintentionally or without seeking it. As for an acquired omen sought intentionally with the intention to act upon it, it is forbidden.

All verses of the Glorious Qur’an are messages from Allah that a Muslim should ponder and act upon, not use them to seek omens. For whoever the Qur’an reaches, it is as if Allah has spoken to him.
