How can a girl live with a sound and pure intention, and what are the things that blacken an intention, especially when she feels that she has a bad intention and is disobedient to her parents due to psychological pressures and mistreatment from her parents?
Rectifying one's intention means performing actions sincerely for the sake of Allah the Almighty. Disrespecting one's parents is one of the gravest major sins, and one must repent from it and treat them with kindness. The rights of parents are immense. Allah has commanded us to address them with politeness, gentleness, and humility, and has forbidden us from scolding them or speaking harshly to them. Allah the Almighty says: "So do not say to them, 'uff,' and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word. And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, 'My Lord, have mercy upon them as they nurtured me when I was small.'" Even if parents treat their daughter poorly, that does not negate their right to dutifulness. If a father prevents his daughter from marrying, she is permitted to refer the matter to the Sharia judge.
