Interacting between men and women online can be an entryway to temptation (fitna) and corruption. The came to block the means leading to corruption. The claim of education is a flimsy excuse, as knowledge can be acquired through other means, especially with the availability of Islamic and other sciences online. There is no harm in merely benefiting from the scientific content in a man's account without direct interaction with him.
