We do not know that the name "Alan" is one of the Muslim names, and it appears to be a foreign name. It is forbidden to be named with foreign names if they are exclusive to disbelievers, such as Peter (Butrus), George (Jirjis), and George (Jurj). However, if they are common among Muslims and others, such as Jesus (Isa) and Solomon (Sulaiman), then there is no objection to being named with them.
