Why is someone who commits sodomy killed in Islam, despite the possibility of treating them psychologically and hormonally in the modern age, and can the religious ruling change depending on the development of treatment methods?

The punishment for sodomy is not carried out unless the act is proven before the ruler by an irrevocable confession or by the testimony of four upright witnesses who saw the act of penetration, like a kohl stick entering the kohl pot. This punishment is established by religious law and is not dependent on whether the Companions knew it was a disease or not. Rather, it is a legal ruling from Allah, the All-Knowing, the All-Experienced, and there is no room for objection to it.
