What is the ruling on wearing clothes made from a fabric composed of 35% silk and 65% other material?

It is permissible to wear a garment blended with silk and other materials if the proportion of silk in it is less, as the ruling depends on what is predominant and greater. The evidence for this is what was narrated by Abu Dawud and Al-Bayhaqi, and authenticated by Al-Nawawi, from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) who said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) only forbade a garment made entirely of silk." Imam Al-Nawawi mentioned that the consideration is by weight: if the silk is less in weight, it is permissible; if it is more, it is forbidden. If they are equal, the well-known opinion is that it is permissible because the Sacred Law forbade a silk garment, and this is not a silk garment [in its entirety].
