It is forbidden for a man to wear natural silk. However, he is permitted to wear something in which silk is negligible, such that other materials constitute the majority, for instance, 5% silk and 95% cotton. This is due to the texts that prohibit men from wearing pure silk, and because it has been authentically reported that the Companions wore khazz, which is a fabric predominantly made of materials other than silk.
