Is reciting Quranic verses along with a reciter on the radio or television, with the intention of reviewing one's memorization, encouraging oneself, pondering the verses, and learning proper recitation, considered a mistaken act due to its contradiction of His Almighty's saying: (Move not your tongue with it to hasten with it) and His saying: (And when the Qur'an is recited, then listen to it and pay attention)?

Listening attentively to a recorded recitation is not obligatory, just as it is not obligatory to listen attentively to a live reciter. The Almighty’s verse: (And when the Quran is recited, then listen to it and pay attention that you may receive mercy) [Al-A'raf/204], scholars are unanimous that this applies to prayer. Repeating the recitation with a recorded reciter for the purpose of reviewing memorization or perfecting recitation is permissible. However, if it is for any other purpose, then listening attentively is preferable. The verse: (Move not your tongue with it, to hasten with it) [Al-Qiyamah/16], was revealed to prohibit the Prophet (peace be upon him) from hastening to recite with Gabriel (peace be upon him) in order to memorize the revelation.
