Is a house registered equally between the father and the mother, which the mother did not contribute to buying, divided among all children from both wives, or is the father's half divided among all children and the mother's half divided among her children only?

If the gift was valid and the mother took possession of it during the father's lifetime and good health, then the gifted half is her property, and all her heirs inherit it. However, there is a disagreement among scholars regarding the validity of a man gifting his residential home to his wife. Some do not permit it, while others stipulate that the house must be free of belongings belonging to anyone other than the wife. If the gift is not valid, then the entire house enters the father's estate and is divided among his heirs. It is advisable to refer the matter to the Sharia court or present it to trusted scholars.
