What is the ruling on using the "prince" (caul) with which some children are born, and which some people believe brings good luck and facilitates matters?

What women believe about wearing the "burnus" (hooded cloak) is a superstition with no basis. Some early Muslims disliked wearing the burnus due to its resemblance to what Christians wore, while Malik permitted it. It is obligatory to believe that all matters are in the hands of Allah. He is the One who bestows sustenance and children and relieves distress, in accordance with His saying, "To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth; He creates what He wills. He gives to whom He wills female [children], and He gives to whom He wills males. Or He combines them [in marriage as] males and females, and He renders whom He wills barren. Indeed, He is Knowing and Competent" and His saying, "Is not He [better than all others] who responds to the distressed one when he calls upon Him and removes evil, and makes you inheritors of the earth? Is there any god with Allah? Little do you remember!"
