What is the ruling on a wife taking her husband's money without his knowledge, and is it permissible to divorce her for this reason?

Our fatwas do not permit a wife to take from her husband's money without his permission absolutely. The wife is entrusted with her husband's money, and it is not permissible for her to take anything from it without his permission, unless the husband does not provide her with the obligatory maintenance. In that case, she is permitted to take what suffices her and her child, in a reasonable manner, from his money without his knowledge, based on the hadith of Hind bint Utbah. If your wife took from your money without your knowledge what she does not need for her reasonable maintenance, then she has committed something forbidden, and she must repent and return the money to you. Your divorce of her for this reason is permissible, but it is better not to rush and to strive for reconciliation.
