What are the shares of the heirs of an uncle who died and left behind: a wife, a full sister, two full nephews, two full nieces, three full nieces, a full nephew, and a full niece? And do the sons of the nephew who died before their uncle inherit?

The niece (brother's daughter) does not inherit from her paternal uncle at all, whether she is a full sister, or a half-sister through the father or through the mother. The nephew (brother's son), whether a full brother or a half-brother through the father, inherits from his paternal uncle, but if he dies before his paternal uncle, he does not inherit from him. If a man dies and leaves behind a wife, a full sister, and two full nephews (brother's sons), the wife receives one-fourth due to the absence of a direct heir, as Allah Almighty says: {And for them [wives] is one fourth of what you leave if you have no child}. The full sister receives one-half, as Allah Almighty says: {If a man dies, leaving no child but a sister, she will have half of what he leaves}. The remainder goes to the two full nephews by way of ta'sib (residuary heirship), with the male receiving the equivalent of the share of two females. The inheritance is divided into eight shares: two shares for the wife, four shares for the full sister, and two shares for the two full nephews (one share for each of them).
