What is the meaning of prostration to Adam, even though prostration is only for Allah Almighty?

The prostration of the angels to Adam (peace be upon him) was a prostration of greeting and honor, by Allah’s command, not a prostration of worship. Al-Shawkani mentioned that this prostration was an honor from Allah to Adam, and it was also said that the prostration was to Allah, with Adam as their qibla. This does not contradict the fact that prostration of worship is due to Allah alone. Prostration of greeting was permissible in previous laws but was forbidden in our Sharia.
