What is the wisdom behind the prohibition of prostrating to other than Allah, considering the prostration of the angels to Adam and the prostration of Joseph's brothers to him? Is this sufficient to invalidate the hadiths prohibiting prostration to other than Allah, such as the hadith: "May Allah curse the Jews and Christians"? Is questioning the wisdom behind a prohibition always a scholarly approach, or is it a form of whispers (waswasa)? Are there matters forbidden in the Quran for which the wisdom of their prohibition is unknown?

The Oneness of Allah and His sole right to divinity must be realized, hence prostration to other than Him is forbidden. As for what has been mentioned in the stories of previous nations, such as the prostration of the angels and Joseph's brothers, it is considered abrogated by our law. Prostration of worship is forbidden to other than Allah in all religions. As for prostration of greeting, it was permissible in previous laws but was forbidden in our law.

A Muslim must submit and surrender to the Sharia rulings. It is permissible to seek wisdom for benefit, not for objection. The predecessors did not keen on asking about the wisdom behind every legislation; the general wisdom for all rulings is that they are the decree of the Sharia.
