The obligation of ghusl (definition) (ritual bath) for both men and women after intercourse, and the limits of a husband's enjoyment of his wife during fasting, have been detailed in previous fatwas. Donating blood to someone in need is not a perpetual charity (sadaqah (definition) jariyah) in the conventional sense, as perpetual charity refers to an endowment whose benefit endures. Nevertheless, the reward for a blood donor might be greater than that of a perpetual charity, especially if the recipient's life is in danger, due to the Almighty's saying: "And whoever saves a life, it is as though he had saved all mankind."
