Is this person considered to have returned to Islam, or is he still in a state of apostasy due to these expiations occurring before his repentance from insulting the religion? And is he considered to have supplicated to other than Allah and committed an act of disbelief, even if he did not know that the word "madad" (help/support) means supplicating to other than Allah? And what is the ruling on dealing with him as a Muslim after these matters?

You must repent to Allah for witnessing evil and not denouncing it, for it is a sin, even if it is not disbelief, as long as you detest the evil. As for your friend, what he committed of acts of disbelief, such as seeking help from other than Allah, is not considered disbelief until proof is established against him. And his mocking of movie scenes is not disbelief unless he intended to ridicule the Quran. As for his cursing of religion, since he has repented from it, then praise be to Allah. As for the saying "something for the sake of Allah" (شيء لله), it is derived from seeking help from the deceased, which is polytheism if proof is established, and it invalidates prayer.
