What is the ruling on drawing Paradise based on the Prophet's — may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him — description, as an imaginative depiction?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

It is not permissible to draw Paradise, because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, informed us that Allah described Paradise by saying: "I have prepared for My righteous servants what no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human heart has conceived," and he recited Allah's saying: "No soul knows what has been hidden for them of comfort for eyes." This drawing diminishes and trivializes the delights of Paradise, so one should suffice with the description mentioned in the Qur'an and Sunnah.
