What is the ruling on trading in cigarettes sold under license from a tobacco company?

Smoking, cultivating, and trading tobacco are forbidden (haram) due to the immense harm they cause, as indicated by the hadith: "There should be no harm nor reciprocating harm." This is also because tobacco is considered among the evil things (khaba'ith), based on Allah's statement: "And He makes lawful for them the good things and prohibits for them the evil things" (Al-A'raf/157), and His statement: "They ask you, [O Muhammad], what has been made lawful for them. Say, 'All good things have been made lawful for you'" (Al-Ma'idah/4).
