Is it valid to say "to be characterized by the attributes of God and to embody His morals," and has any of the people of knowledge said it?

The expression mentioned is inappropriate, but it carries a valid meaning, which is to encourage adopting some of God's attributes and names and their implications, such as knowledge, strength in truth, mercy, forbearance, generosity, munificence, and forgiveness. For God, the Exalted, is All-Knowing and loves the knowledgeable; He is Strong and loves the strong believer; He is Generous and loves the generous; He is Merciful and loves the merciful; He is Oft-Pardoning and loves forgiveness. However, God's attributes are more perfect and greater, for "there is nothing like unto Him" (Quran 42:11), and the creature can have a share in these meanings in a way that suits him lawfully without transgression. Ibn al-Qayyim mentioned this meaning in Uddat al-Sabirin and Al-Wabil al-Sayyib, explaining that God loves those who are characterized by the implications of His names and dislikes those who are characterized by their opposites.
