What is the legal ruling on chat rooms that bear the name of Islam and allow participants to post lectures and listen to the Qur’an, but in which transgressions occur between the sexes and private conversations take place, and listening to the Qur’an is absent due to the large number of responses between participants?

It is not permissible to place religious lectures, Prophetic narrations (Hadith), and the Holy Quran in environments that lack the glorification of Allah’s sanctities and treat His verses with mockery. A Muslim must denounce those who do so and withdraw from the conversation, based on the Almighty’s saying: ﴿AND DO NOT TAKE THE VERSES OF ALLAH IN MOCKERY﴾ and ﴿AND WHEN YOU HEAR THE VERSES OF ALLAH BEING DENIED AND MOCKED, DO NOT SIT WITH THEM UNTIL THEY ENGAGE IN ANOTHER CONVERSATION. INDEED, IN THAT CASE, YOU WOULD BE LIKE THEM.﴾ The Quran was revealed to be acted upon and understood, and it must be listened to attentively when recited, as the Almighty said: ﴿AND WHEN THE QURAN IS RECITED, LISTEN TO IT AND PAY ATTENTION THAT YOU MAY RECEIVE MERCY.﴾ It is also advised to fear Allah and repent.
