This book is an abridgement of a larger work on the names of Hadith narrators and their biographies. Its origin is the book "Al-Kamal fi Asma' al-Rijal" by Al-Hafiz Al-Maqdisi. Then, Al-Hafiz Al-Mizzi abridged it in "Tahdhib al-Kamal." Subsequently, Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar Al-Asqalani abridged it and added to it in "Tahdhib al-Tahdhib." Finally, the latter abridged it into the book "Taqrib al-Tahdhib."
