He is Imam, the trustworthy, the master of Hadith, the frequent traveler, the itinerant, the Hadith scholar of Islam, Abu al-Qasim Sulaiman bin Ahmad al-Tabarani, author of the three Mu'jams (lexicons). He was born in the year 260 AH. His father sent him to seek knowledge, and he met men (scholars) for sixteen years. He excelled in this field, collected, and compiled. He heard (Hadith) in the Two Holy Mosques (Mecca and Medina), Yemen, the cities of Syria, Egypt, Baghdad, Kufa, Basra, Isfahan, Khuzestan, and other places. Then he settled in Isfahan for about sixty years, spreading knowledge and authoring books.
